Meet Dr. Robert Chavez
Dr. Robert Chavez has been providing the highest in quality orthodontic care in the greater Boston area for over 36 years. He has made Creating Generations of Beautiful Smiles his life's work, which he continues today, with his son, Dr. Andrew Chase. Together, they are the founding fathers of ARCH Orthodontics and continue to be a constant in the community and keep us all smiling.
Education & Affiliations:
Dr. Chavez attended Hunter College for his undergraduate studies. He was accepted into dental school at the respected Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he earned his Doctorate in Dentistry. While at Howard University, he was awarded the Alexene Montgue Cobb Award for Excellence in Anatomy and published an article: The Effect of Cancer Chemotherapeutic Agents on the Oral Mucosa , which won the prestigious Block Drug Essay Award. He accepted a one year internship with the U.S. Public Health Service in San Francisco, California. Dr. Chavez then continued his professional education at Boston University receiving his CERTIFICATE IN ORTHODONTICS in 1974.
Dr. Chavez is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontics. He has served as both the Treasurer and the President for the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the South Shore District Dental Society and currently serves on the staff of Brigham and Woman's Hospital as an Associate Surgeon; a position he originally accepted in 1978. He has also participated in Operation Smile, traveling to Hungary, Jordan, Gaza, Kenya and the Philippines. Operation Smile is an organization that helps disadvantaged children with Cleft Palate and other oral deformities by providing them with free surgeries and dental care that they may not otherwise receive. Dr. Chavez also co-founded and serves as a board member on the Stoughton Youth Commission. All of this shows his unwavering dedication not only to the community, but to the world. Creating Generations of Beautiful Smiles is indeed his life's work.
